Hindu Lunar Observances

Omkar - Hindu SymbolThe Hindu lunar holidays are traditional religious observances based on the ancient Hindu lunar calendar. The Hindu lunar calendar contains thousands of observances. Most Hindus observe only a small portion of them. The holidays listed are those which are observed by a majority of Hindus. Some of the holidays may be considered minor observances in some locations, and major holidays in other locations. Many Hindus will observe additional holidays depending upon where they live, and what gods they hold most prominent.
